The 2026 KOWTags Knockdown is around the corner and it's our 1st event of the season!
This will be our fourth year running and we're excited to see new and old faces; from first timers to pros (some that started out here)!
Your entry grants you club membership in the form of a 2026 Knock On Wood Bag Tag (KOWTag) which will display your rank. Best score for the day leaves with the best tag (#1).
We are all in for prizes with CTPs on each hole, Longest Putt on every other (Holes 2, 4, 6, etc), and THREE CHANCES to win them with this new layout!
Ace pot is active with $5 from each buy in today with a guaranteed payout in the form of a throw off if one isn't hit!
Payouts will also be made in the form of CASH to the top 25% of players.
Plus, this year the player's pack is a new club stamped Gateway Disc Sports premium plastic disc!
There will only be 8 official KOWTag events in 2026:
-Saturday, 3/28 "The Knockdown" @ Lake Hills in Schererville, IN
-Saturday, 4/25 @ Hidden Lake in Merrillville, IN
-Saturday 5/9 @ The Oaks in Mokena, IL
-Saturday 6/6 @ Glenn Christopher Nicholson Memorial in Portage, IN
-Sunday 7/5 @ Purdue Northwest in Westville, IN
-Saturday 8/15 @ Marquette Park in Gary, IN
-Saturday 9/12 @ Forsythe Park in Whiting, IN
-Saturday 11/7 "The Finale" Lake Hills in Schererville, IN
Each one will have added cash, added prizes, and be worth the month long wait in between!
Our final round of the year will be held at River's Edge in Munster/Hammond/Lansing! It sits on the border of so many cities that it's hard to call it lol
For just $25 come get some hot coffee, a donut if you're early enough, and chances at a $300+ Ace Pot, prize on every hole, and the #1 KOWTag if we're lucky enough to see that member!
Check in as early as 8am.
A players meeting will happen at 8:45am.
We'll tee off at 9am.

Have you stayed busy keeping your rating above last years? Was your summer all work and no play? It feels like the time flew by in an instant for us.
Aside from the memorable parts: 100F degree weather, humidity wetter than a swimming pool, and a few sunburns there was also a lot of disc golf in there! Multiple Region Rumble Events came and went. Plus, LEDGESTONE! Such a crazy experience and we hung out with Forge Discs at every Fly Mart, making it even better.
One last hurrah of rated rounds will be the 2025 NWI Club Challenge Tournament. This year it's at Forsythe Park in Whiting, IN and so far Knock On Wood has the highest turn out of players compared to any club! That should give us a leg up, since the scoring is different from last time. This time, they take your best player in each division (division must have 3 players minimum for it to be included at all) and throws that score down as points for the cluh. Club with the LOWEST score wins this year. Last year it was 5 best scores (stroke count/under par).

Forge Discs Ace Race Recap! - Lake Hills Single/Doubles/Triples! - Summer Schedule
June 1st is here and we're into warmer weather!
The Forge Discs Ace Race (click to see photos/videos from the event) was a huge success! 45 people attended and over 60 discs were sold along with other great items you can find online at www.forgediscs.com or in person at any event we host!
Lake Hills is hosting one of their annual tournaments and this year we're helping by adding prizes! The Triple Double Singles (or any order of that) Event is scheduled for June 14th and sign ups are ready by clicking the image below!
Come get the best breakfast sandwich you've ever tasted and play three rounds of the main twelve holes with a new partner each time! Your grand total score could win you a few prizes!
We'll be hosting a mini version of this Friday June 13th as a league day. Two rounds of main twelve, random doubles, change partners each round!
Lastly, check out what's on the schedule for June and July!

Earth Day 2025! Come Clean Up the Courses! Take a Chance at Winning a Prize!
April 19, 2025
DeYoung's Grove - South Holland, IL - 9am to 11am
Join Craig in a walk through the property filling a trash bag (or two or three!) at DeYoung's Grove, a newly installed course by Brian Cummings and the town of South Holland, Illinois! Come see this beautiful place and experience a round at a hidden gem!
River's Edge - Munster, IN - 9am to 10am
Join Sam as she hosts a group of volunteers in bagging up trash, lining fairways with fallen limbs, and livening up one of the hubs for disc golf in our region. Afterward follow her to Riverside where she'll be making a second stop for Earth Day!
Riverside - Hammond, IN - 10:15am to 11:15am
Sam will be making a follow up to her efforts at River's Edge here until noon. She hopes for a great turn out to help pick up any debris littering the course and afterwards stick around for some disc golf together!
Autumn Creek - Schererville, IN - 3pm to 4pm
Matt has bags, gloves, and his Warlock ready to beautify this property then attempt to throw a perfect round on this backyard 9 Hole that hosts the Annual One Disc Challenge. Come see why he loves the place and lend a hand.
All volunteers will have access to clean gloves, garbage bags, and fresh water to keep them hydrated. As a thank you the club is providing a prize disc to each event that can be won after the first walk through is done. A hole will be chosen by the director, and everyone present gets an attempt at winning it by coming Closest To the Pin (CTP)! A sign in sheet will also be present for you to log your name and efforts and receive a shout out on our website and social media outlets as a thank you and sign of your generosity!
Also! Trash Panda Disc Golf is hosting Earth Day Bingo this year: Earth Day Bingo 2025 – Trash Panda Disc Golf
Be sure to fill out the bingo card and take pictures for fun to really encourage the rest, even though no proof is required to submit your card and be given a Free Disc!
April KOWDG Updates!
Change of schedule!
We will still be holding an Earth Day course cleanup on April 19th, but our Tags and Dubs events (4/6 and 4/20) will be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. More info on which courses and what times to be announced on our Facebook. We apologize for the inconvenience and still encourage you to visit Hidden Lake for preparation of the Sasquatch event hosted by Adam Goodman/Portage Disc Golf!!

Play It Again Sports - Merrillville, IN: Disc Golf Outreach!
We're setting up shop at Play It Again Sports in Merrillville, IN thanks to the owner Joe Molosky and his invitation! We'll have league calendars, tournament information, discs, and more to show off. We will hopefully meet a ton of new faces, introduce some newcomers to the sport, and spark interest in the community for the activity we love!

One last thing to highlight that is special to us is the #StrongLikeLex fund. I've had a chance to talk disc golf, life, friends, family, and general morals with Jake Forstall and it has been a pleasure. Nothing breaks my heart more than the condition his wife Alexa was left in after being struck by a moving vehicle while on a snowmobile with their family. This couple from the area love disc golf and the clubs we all participate in and are struggling financially and emotionally right now. Support them by purchasing Alexa's art in the mobile game Disc Golf Valley!
