ACE RACE Scoring!
How does it work?
All players will arrive like normal and check in physically with the director.
Cards will be grouped in 5s and assigned starting holes.
There will be a temporary 18 Hole Shortened Layout being played! (When at Lake Hills)
Bring your entire bag to choose from, but only three shots will be taken! All will be from the tee with the goal of getting an ACE!
Scores will be given for hitting metal (top bands, base, pole, cage) for 1 point, hitting the chains specifically but not staying in for 3 points, and for getting an ACE for 5 points!
Scorecards for this custom scoring type event will be made and given to each card for simplicity.
UDisc will simply be used for promotion.
(Feel free to use this layout to score a real round afterward in these super short positions, but don't score your 1, 3, and 5pts using UDisc. Points =/= Strokes and it'll make errors for averages)
The top three scoring players will win prizes, along with awarding the Ace Pot to the player who makes the MOST ACES (in the event of a tie, it will be split evenly).
Where does the $10 entry fee go?
$8 toward Payouts for the top 40% of players
$1 toward the ace pot which is active on any full-sized hole AND 3B due to it being the furthest shot! If unhit, a throw-off will be done for payout.
$1 toward league funds.
Additional donations welcome and help keep things moving well!
FAQ
"What if I lost my tag?” - Buy a new one for $10 or don’t tag in, but no tag in means no tag out. You may still buy into the prize pools (ace, ctp, raffle) for the $5.
“What if I'm late?” - If you’re later than 5 min after tee time, you can always join as the free play option but will unfortunately miss the prize pool entries.
"How does Cali work (no teammate)?" - You get two throws for every lie. Receive full payout.
"Is this OB?" - Check UDisc first. If the definition is unclear, get the majority vote from your card. If there are still uncertainties, take a picture of your lie, and play provisionally (one shot taken as if the lie is OB and one shot taken as if the lie is in bounds). Then, consult a TD with your photo and get a ruling before finalizing score.
